Screening phone call is the process of evaluating the characteristics of a phone call before deciding to answer it or forward the call to the concern person. Some methods of screening includes listening, checking the caller ID, checking the time and date of the call or the message. Usually emergency cases must be forwarded immediately to the physician. However, in certain cases the medical assistant can answer the concern without the help of the physician.
