Although totalitarian regimes have been present for as long as politics have been conceived and their specific characteristics are extremely varied, one common trait amongst all totalitarian regimes has been a strong focus on land and its relation to ascendance, always creating a strong sentiment of fear and hatred for foreigners´ intervention and influence in the composition of what is believed should be a privileged native group of people (like the Aryan race in Germany during the rule of Hitler).
