Woodrow Wilson contributed to the peace process and though many of his 14 Points plan were not put into place, the League of Nations was created because of his input. The US would prove to have an economic impact both during and after the war providing market goods and loans to European countries. This made the US a part of the global community.

It was during the government of Theodore Roosevelt when this changed, and after the victory along with the Triple Entente in the First World War it was recognized as the new hegemonic power of the world.
