Suppose the total weight of the fish caught stayed the same but instead of 100 fish caught during the weeklong fishing trip only 10 fish were caught. How would the weight of each fish change?

Respuesta :

The weight of each fish would be 10 times the weight of the previous fish.

Assume that the first time, the weight was 500 lb.  Since there were 100 fish caught, each one would weigh 500/100 = 5 lb.

This time, however, only 10 fish were caught.  The weight is still 500 lb.  500/10 = 50 lb per fish.

50 = 5(10), so the weight is 10 times more.
