Hi !!

How to conjugate the French conditionnal tense ?

It's quite easy if you remember the IMPARFAIT tense and the FUTURE tense.

You must keep the infinitive or the root of the future tense(because sometimes you have to skip the -e of the infinitive as for future tense) and add the imparfait endings which are = ais, ais ait, ions, iez, aient

For example =
chanter (ier groupe)
je chanter-ais
tu chanter-ais
il /elle/ on chanter-ait
nous chanter-ions
vous chanter-iez
ils/elles chanter-aient

finir (2ème groupe)
je finir-ais
tu finir-ais
il/elle/on finir-ait
nous finir-ions
vous finir-iez
ils/elles finir-aient

prendre (3ème groupe)
je prendr-ais
tu prendr-ais
il/elle/on prendr-ait
nous prendr-ions
vous prendr-iez
ils/elles prendr-aient

Of course, many exceptions - irregular verbs that you've got to learn...
some of them =
avoir = aur-
être = ser-
savoir = saur-
aller = ir-
tenir = tiendr-
venir = viendr-
.........

And you always add the same endings (the imparfait endings)
ai,s ais, ait, ions, iez, aient

So if you know the future tense for the roots  and the imparfait for the endings, you should be ok !!!

I tried to explain as much as I could
hope this will help :)
