The exercises which provide flexibility, strength, tolerance and fitness to the muscles come under level 3 of the pyramid. These exercises involve resistance training and moving body weight. The resistance training is done with help of machine and weights while body weight is moved through jumping, calisthenics, and rock climbing. Such exercises improve body posture and appearance and make the bones stronger. These are also called anaerobic exercises as they are done intensely for a short period of time and improves muscle endurance by providing tolerance against lactic acid build-up in the muscles.
The physical inactivity is part of level 4 of the pyramid. The rest is important for the human body but too much inactivity leads to bedsores, physical ailments, and boredom. The inactivity must be limited and should involve only small part of the day.
