Question 1: Mr. Vogel states that the Holocaust happened, “not because of what bad people did, but because good people stood by and did nothing.” What do you think he means?
Question 2: What do you have to say about today about the dangers of prejudice and of standing by and doing nothing?

Question 1: He means that if good people would have done something the Holocaust could have been prevented. But they didn't do anything so the bad people got away with their plan and the Holocaust happened.
Question 2: Today prejudice is shown through forms of racism, sexism(saying that men are better than women), etc. If we were to stand up for what we believe in, we could change SO many things. But through standing by and watching, nothing changes, things can only get worse.
1. What I think he means is that the bystanders knew what was happening but didn't stand up for it. They didn't fight for the Jews rights. But in my opinion that statement is wrong since anyone who stood up or defended the Jews would be killed.
