Respuesta :

Both of these poems involve the speaker being separated by someone they love.

"Where Have You Gone" is written with more of a thoughtful, reflective tone, and reads at a slower pace. It does this by separating the speaker's thought into separate stanzas. "The Taxi" is written with a more frantic, panicked tone, and reads at a quicker pace. This is done by combining all of the speaker's thoughts into one stanza.

Both of these poems use substantial imagery to describe the speakers' feelings about losing the person they love. Each uses star imagery, but "Where Have You Gone" uses more imagery of the person who has left, whereas "The Taxi" uses imagery that describes the speaker's surroundings.

Using these techniques, "Where Have You Gone" focuses on the person's leaving, while "The Taxi" focuses more on the effect of the person's leaving.
