Waterman L. Ormsby described the land of New Mexico as dried, burning with sun blaze and water was scarce. According to him, the people of the land were lazy. He said that land could be productive if it was in hand of eastern labors. He compared the low built houses as dog kennels. In his view that people of this land were ignorant to the society that is known elsewhere.
