14. Give a short description of star clusters. Describe (1) how they are held together, (2) how old they are, and (3) how astronomers categorize them.

15. What types of stars make up open clusters, and what is the fate of these stars?

16. Describe the cluster that includes our own Sun.

17. How do globular clusters differ from open clusters?

18. Two star clusters visible to the naked eye are _________________ and _____________________________

Respuesta :

14) Star clusters are stars that group together. Star clusters are held together due to a mutual gravitational attraction. Star clusters range from 10 million years old to 100 million years old. Astronomers categorize star clusters based on age, brightness, what types of stars make up the group, and how large the group is.

15) Open clusters are made up of a couple thousand stars that formed in the same molecular cloud and open clusters have loose gravitational pulls thus causing the stars to eventually disperse and then form field stars.
16) The sun is located in the Hyades Cluster where our entire solar system is located.

17) Globular clusters are different from open clusters because they contain more stars, have a stronger gravitational pull, and are older than open clusters.
18) Two star clusters visible to the naked eye are Messier 13 and Omega Centauri.
Ha ;) Sure, I'll answer (but I don't care about getting Brainlest, since other answers were great too ;))

14.
Star clusters are clusters of stars in a group, usually more concentrated than regular patches of stars. They're held together by gravity, also known (in this case) as "gravitational attraction". Star clusters have different age ranges- they can range from 12 million years to around 95 million years. Astronomers classify them by their size, brightness, age, star types, and other features that make the cluster(s) stand out.

15.
Open clusters are thousands of stars formed in the same nebula cloud and open clusters have small gravitational pulls. This causes the stars to spread and lose their gravity, turning into stars classified as field stars.
16.
The sun used to be located in a cluster called the Hydaes Cluster, but is now no longer a part of a cluster.

17.
Globular clusters are different from open clusters; they contain more stars and have stronger gravity within.
18.
Two star clusters visible to the naked eye are Vegan and Eclipse Narrai.

Hope this helps!
