There are
only three types of blood cells and these are: Red Blood Cells (RBCs), White
Blood Cells (WBCs), and platelets. They are the components of the blood that play
significant roles in the body.
White Blood
Cells or WBCs are the types of blood cells responsible for assimilating bacteria
and foreign invaders in the body. WBCs play a big role in the immune system of
the body as these cells help fight infections by attacking viruses and bacteria
that enter the body. They are larger in size compared to Red Blood Cells
because they are also responsible for the repair of broken tissues in the body.
They originate from the bone marrow and they constantly guard and circulate
throughout the bloodstream.
