The path of the blood through the human body
follows two pathways. These two pathways are known as the Pulmonary Circulation
and Systemic Circulation. Pulmonary circulation is the pathway that
deoxygenated blood goes through. It is where blood goes to the lungs to get
oxygenated then makes its way to the Systemic Circulation.
Blood that passes through the aorta is already oxygenated, which is ready for circulation throughout the body. The aorta is an important part of the systemic circulation because it is the biggest artery in the body responsible for oxygen transport.
