[tex] \frac{6}{10} = \frac{36}{x} [/tex]

Means over extremes.
The means are the numerator of the first fraction and the denominator of the second fraction. The extremes are the denominator of the first fraction and the numerator of the second fraction. Which means the means would be 6 and x and 10 and 36. Multiply the means together and the extremes together. You would get :
[tex]6x=360[/tex]
after divide both sides by 6 to get the x alone. You would get:
[tex]x=60[/tex]
