  • Granite is an intrusive igneous rock that is coarse-grained and light-colored, mainly composed of feldspar and quartz.  It forms from the crystallization or the cooling of magma in the Earth's crust.
  • When igneous rocks such as granite undergo weathering and erosion they form sediments that are deposited, then compacted and cemented by the movement of tectonic plates resulting to the formation of sedimentary rocks.
