PLEASE ANSWER ASAP! EXTWEMELY IMPORTANT! MUST BE CORRECT! POINTS GIVEN!

Devon stated that when a positive and a negative integer are multiplied together the answer will be negative. Use these integers to answer the questions: –12, –7, 11, 16

Is Devon’s statement always true, sometimes true, or always false? Write two equations to support your answer.

Respuesta :

His statement is correct, -12 times 11= a negative number
11 x -7=-77

negative times positive = negative
ALWAYS!
the asnwer is alway true because negative means reverse and positive makes the thing stay the ssame
basically a positive is a blank thing that doesn't do anything while a negative makes change happen (opposite)
with 1 blank thing and an opposite, we get an oposite

so we havve -7 times +11
we can factor out the -1 in -7 so we get
-1 times 7 times 11
we know that 7 times 11=77
then the negative makes it oposite so -1

therefor
if you have -x times +z that equals -1 times (x times z) and since x and z are both positive, they remain so, but the -1 makes it negative

so this statement is always true
