Th vertices of a sandbox are p(12, 14), Q(12, 17), R (16, 17) and S (16, 14).the coordinates are measured in feet . What is the perimeter of the sandbox ?

Respuesta :

so we just find the distance between the points found by using the formula
d=[tex] \sqrt{(x₂-x₁)^{2}+(y₂-y₁)^{2}} [/tex] where points you have the points (x₁,y₁) and (x₂,y₂) so subsitute

using the formula we get that the sides are legnths (note: pQ means the line that is drawn from point p to point Q)

pQ=3 ft
QR=4 ft
RS=3 ft
Sp=4 ft

add
3+4+3+4=14 ft

perimiter=14 ft
