What usually happens is that, things that affect the plant also affect the fruit or the bearing capabilities of the plant if the plant is a fruit-bearing one. Though it doesn't really mean that what directly affects the plant will also have an affect to the fruit, it all depends on probability. The environment per se would either promote or obstruct fruit growth. Of course, the essential for plant life also have a role in promoting fruit growth. Through the advancement of science and the long study of plants and growth all for the betterment and increasing the efficiency in growing them, studies have determined the plant hormones that we can manipulate to produce even more satisfying results. These hormones are auxins, cytokinins, and gibberellins.
