And sixty cents of it was in pennies” what are the possible number of coins to make $1.87? Use the equation that represents the value of the coins to complete the table

1 dime = 10 cents
1 nickel = 5 cents
1 penny = 1 cent

1) You need 2 pennies.
2) You need 7 pennies.
3) You need 9 dimes.
4) You need 2 quarters and 0 nickels.
5) You need 5 nickels.

So the rows are read from left to right, now down. This is probably a little late to be answering this, but see how the top row say 4 6 5? 4 quarters = 100, 6 dimes = 60, 5 nickels = 25, all together is 185. It's just asking you to fill in the blanks to make each row equal $1.87. So for pennies, you would put 2 to make 185+2 = 187 or $1.87. I was confused looking at this too. I was staring at it for an hour and I googled to see how other people answered this.
