Fossilization is not a
process of forming sedimentary rock. Fossilization is a process in which
organic materials are replaced with mineral substances preserving its form and
original state. It is a process in which something is converted into a fossil
that could give a glimpse of events in the past.
Paleontologists are the scientists responsible for digging up fossils from the
ground and doing in depth research on them. Usually fossils of animals,
insects, and plants are found in soil, amber, or rock, in well preserved form
that are important in the study of events that have occurred on Earth.
