What happens when you multiply any number by 10

Notice that in order to move the decimal place, we had to add a zero to the end of the number. This will happen every time you multiply by 10, 100, or 1,000. You will need to add the same amount of zeroes to the end of the number to match thenumber of places you moved the decimal.

You multiply. But in the particular case of the number 10 you would take said number and add a zero to it, as you take on zero from 10 and it becomes one. Any number times one it equal to itself. Add the zero back on and boom! Answer.
