One thing Europeans can do is regarding the depletion of coal, of which Great Britain had a lot of, is to use green energy alternatives ie to coal-fired power plants (that is if Britain or the rest of Europe uses them) and follow the example of Ireland which uses a lot of wind turbines for power ie use a green alternative. Also, for forests that have been decimated as the forests in the Erzgebirge Mts of eastern Germany (by use of timber in underground mines in the past) is to plant new tree seedlings to restore the forests. Also, paper can be recycled in a big way to reduce the number of trees used to make original paper. Metals, like iron in steel can also be recycled as in the recycling of automobiles and also copper can be recycled to reduce the mining of these metals in Europe. Copper was or is mined in the famous Kuperscheifer deposit in Germany and iron ore occurs in the Scandinavian part of Europe.

Explanation:
Europeans can take several steps to try to replace some of their natural resources. For example, Europeans can plant trees to replace the ones that are cut down. They can also place restrictions on how many trees can be cut down within a certain period of time or restrict the number of companies that are allowed to enter the lumber industry. Europeans can also take care of their soil to make sure the nutrients stay in the ground for future farmers. The government can regulate the amount of pollution or waste admitted into the environment to make sure freshwater sources are always available. Some natural resources in Europe can never be replenished, so it is important to maintain them for future generations. Europeans can do this by placing restrictions on how much of a certain resource can be used or harvested each year. They can also provide incentives for the creation of new technologies that will help preserve resources and prevent damage to the environment.
