Without the map, the Warsaw Pact was an alliance of protection if there were to be another aggressive nation as the world saw in WWII. The democratic countries formed NATO and invited Stalin to joined but he refused. Instead he created the Warsaw Pact with countries bordering the USSR. These countries included: USSR, Albania, Poland, Romania, Hungary, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria.
