As Elizabeth Eckford, I was discriminated on my first morning of school.  I prepared what I wore the night before and then the next day I got yelled at someone who doesn’t want me to go to school. I am a victim of discrimination. The integration was not the way I expected it to be.  I felt mistreated by almost everyone and I felt very disappointed with how they stared at me.

Integration is a very important aspect of living and people should be more accommodating of others because we are all one.

The discrimination against Elizabeth Eckford will have likely made her feel displaced. Personally, facing discrimination by people from other tribes induced insecurity in me.

Who was Elizabeth Eckford?

Elizabeth Eckford was a black American who was discriminated against by the whites at Little Rock Central High school.

The discrimination was so intense that she has attempted to kill herself twice because of the stress induced by these acts. She was also diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.
