The gross domestic product (gdp) does not calculate all the transactions that were not reported. It only tallies what is reported. None of the under-the-table work is accounted for (ie. A contractor who pays his subcontractors cash only so they do not count it as income). All unpaid work is excluded. And everything on the black market is excluded. Homemakers are excluded because it would be difficult to put a number to all they do, and they do it for free. Numbers cannot be included in the gdp if they are not reported to the government. Hope this makes sense. I think I'm missing a couple areas, but I have to run.
