Madison saw the centralizing of power as a strength. The Articles kept most power in the hands of the states which made accomplishing simple tasks almost impossible. The creation of the executive and judicial branches would also be good to keep one group from gaining power over the entire government. They didn't want another King George. Also by assigning different terms to each branch, he hoped this would be another way to keep one group from controlling everything, or at least limit their time in power. Madison approved of everything, but he will flip sides and join the Anti-Federalists and insist on the addition of the Bill of Rights to protect people from this new government.
