To understand 1/4 dividend by 1/2 lets start with understanding what division does;
1/4 dividend by any number greater than 1 will make smaller quantities than 1/4 because you cut that 1/4 to make out of it 2 or 3 or 4...etc. equal groups
1/4 : 2 = 1/8
1/4 cut to make 2 groups =2 groups of 1/8
1/4 dividend by a number smaller than 1 like 1/2 will make you bigger quantity than 1/4 because because you don’t make not even a whole group yet a half (1/2) a group.
1/4: 1/2= 1/4 •2= 1/2
