When they initially opened in Colorado, they were one of the first dog day care centers in the area. As as national franchise, they have had to adapt due to increased competition. Additionally, their services have become more comprehensive after being acquired by a firm that specializes in animal healthcare.

Because all along it had been a family based business and was handled as a small scaled family business but making the business a national business would require different procedures in order for it to be successful. Before that, friends and family member had helped to push the business forward but going national required following business and performance orientated principles.
