Imagine is a song written by John Legend and Yoko Ono. The song revolves around the fact that he imagines a world with peace, but with no countries, religion, possessions, or anything of the sort. In my opinion, I think he makes a fair point that this could promote peace. You see, fighting between countries over possesions and sometimes even terrorism around the world because of religion. He imagines a world without all of these things, and he knows that there could possibly be peace, or maybe not. It's hard to tell.
But we do know one thing, which is the fact that Lennon's thoughts of peace are very different from that of most other people. He speaks of a world without a lot of these common things. Just imagine- if there were no weapons and possessions of them, would the Cold War have started? If there was no religion, would there be lots of terrorism today? It's a debatable topic, and there's really no right or wrong answer. It's what you think.
Despite the controversy, we can all agree that John Lennon made an everlasting and unforgettable effect on the world by sharing his opinions on the way he thinks the world should be during the post-Beatle era.
