Triple alliance was actually a military alliance between the countries Germany, Italy and Austria-Hungary. This alliance was formed on 20th of May in the year 1882. This alliance remained in force until the year 1914 when World War I broke out. According to this agreement, each country promised to stand beside one another if any other countries of the world attacked any of them. This was completely military alliance that was forged for each others protection and so this triple alliance had one motive only and that was mutual protection.
