The permanent birth control method is vasectomy. A vasectomy is a procedure to make a man sterile, by blocking sperm from reaching the semen that is ejaculated from the penis. The fluid contains semen, but no sperm, so it prevents the pregnancy.

There are many birth control methods, some more effective than others. Some can prevent you from STD (Sexual Transmitted Disease) disease.  

1. Contraceptive pills/birth control pills

Birth control pill contains a combination of progesterone and estrogen hormone to control the ovaries and the uterus. A Pill is an effective form of birth control, but even missing one day increases the chance of getting pregnant.

IUD is a coil and flexible T-shaped device that is placed in the uterus by a physician. There are two types of IUD, a copper, and a hormonal IUD.

4. Injections

It prevents pregnancy by stopping the woman from releasing an egg. The shot is injected every 3 months at a doctor's office.

After this procedure the testes still produce sperm but they are not able to enter into the semen and after sometime these sperm get soaked up through scrotum by the body. The term vasectomy is derived from the tube vas deferens through which sperm enter into semen and this is the tube that is blocked during the procedure. This procedure comes under male birth control. It is performed by cutting the small tube called vas deferens that attach scrotum to testis and sealed it by stitching.

It’s an irreversible process and has very low level of risk that can be treated such as inflammation, slight bleeding, swelling and bruises. After vasectomy the semen still contain sperm for at least three months and after that a small test is performed to make sure the absence of sperm from semen.
