There are 40 students in all
=> Girls = 2x - 5
=> boys = x
Let’s find the value of X to be able to get the number of boys and girls
=> (2x - 5) + x = 40
=> 3x – 5  = 40
=> 3x = 40 + 5
=> 3x / 3 = 45 / 3
=> x = 15
Girls number = 2x – 5
=> 2(15) – 5
=> 30 – 5 = 25
=> boys = 15
=> 25 + 15 = 40
