There were several popular songs in the 19 century. 

It was very different because most people sang differently, and the styles varied. 

Some were:

Yankee doodle, Buffalo Gals, Australia, Daisy bell, etc. 

The way they used to play songs was with a record player. So, it is a bit different now.
