The outer plants are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, while the inner planets are Mercury, Venus, earth and mars. The outer planets have more moons than the inner planets because these planets are much larger than the inner ones. The inner planets are terrestrial while larger ones are called gas giants , mostly made up of gas.
