What of the following is not a benefit of active listening? Restating what you heard in your own words leads to fewer misunderstandings. The person you are listening to feels confident that you have understood the message. You have an opportunity to tell the other person how you feel about what they have said. Responding with active listening can calm someone down who is angry or upset

Hey there,

Your question states: What of the following is not a benefit of active listening?

Your answer would be "
Responding with active listening can calm someone down who is angry or upset" because this would be very beneficial because this can actually be used in everyday life.

Hope this helps.

I did some research, and something that is not a benefit is,

"You have an opportunity to tell the other person how you feel about what they have said."

You don't want to interrupt what they are saying or add to it. It is supposed to be for the person talking, not the listener. You could cause more people to be upset when you state the emotions that went with it. They may have different ones, it may steer you off topic, etc.

To be honest, I view this as a good thing. But, active listening is supposed to be you listening and actively paying attention.

I hope this helps!
