There are various features which differentiate the hunter gatherer societies from the a civilisation. Some of these features are cities,Organised central governments,Job specialisation, Complex religions, social classes,Writing, Art and Architecture, and public works. In most of the ancient civilisations that evolved around the world, the farmers settled in the fertile river valleys and began to grow surplus food. This food was helpful in growth of the population, and with the growth in population the settlements grew into cities. With the development and expansion of cities systems of food supply and irrigation was needed  and to maintain these the councils or religious leaders began to look after the business and existence of the cities.
