Both saber and conocer means "to know", however, saber is used for when someone knows factual information such as how to read or do math. Conocer is used when someone if familiar with a person or place, such as a friend or a certain city. The correct present tense of conocer would be "conoce" because it is used when talking about a person by name or when they are referred to as "él", "ella", or "usted".
