In the early cities the social classes were known to have existed because they wanted the structure where some people would have to be able to do work while there would be others that would have the administrative roles.
This is the term that is used to refer to the fact that people where of different statuses and class in the society. In these societies there were the laborer's who had to do most of the strong works and they had the people who acted in the place of the leadership of the cities.
Examples of these kinds of societies were the early Mesopotamia societies and the Indian Caste system that existed in Asia.
