The majority of immigrants that entered the United States during the Industrial age came from Europe.

Most of the people that immigrated from Eastern and Southern Europe worked in the U.S. factories. They left their former countries because they were looking for better opportunities for their families. The economic conditions in that part of Europe were not favorable enough. There were conflicts and poverty. In the United States, they could find jobs, cheap manufacturing jobs, but that was a better option than stay in their countries.
