because slavery was demeaning to a group of people, it was considered evil because they killed, mistreated, and stole from African Americans and there was nothing that could be done legally because it was legal.
Because during that time it was legal to mistreat a color person and pay for a slave and how much time they would need to keep it or sale it but sometimes slave had the freedom of being set free cause of I believe once the owner buys the slave he or she puts the amount of time the slave will be held until release of freedom...
