t-tubule proteins are believed to act as transmitters of action potential from sarcrolemma to the endoplasmic reticulum. sarcrolemma is the plasma membrane of muscle cells. t-tubule also plays another important role of regulating the amount of calcium ions in the cells.they contain crucial protens such as calciaum ion exchanger and sarcrolemmal ATPase which facilitate its their functions.
T Tubules are the cell membranes that are extended to the skeletal and cardiac muscle cells. The main function of T tubule is to enhance the communication between the cells during the contraction of muscles. These tubules also help in controlling the calcium level of the cells.
