The analgesic effects of Chinese acupuncture can be reversed by NALOXONE.
Naloxone is an endorphin antagonist, that is, it functions by binding competitively with opiod receptors with higher affinity than opiod agonists. Opiod agonists are those drugs that are pain killers and they are used to relieve pain. Opiod antagonist are drugs that work against opiod agonists and prevent them from carrying out their functions. Thus, the analgesic effects of Chinese acupuncture can be canceled out by naloxone drug, which is an opiod antagonist.
