At least one pyroclastic streams hit the city of St. Pierre.
Mount Pelée started its emissions on 23 April 1902. Toward the beginning of April, adventurers noticed the presence of sulfurous vapors transmitting from fumaroles close to the peak. This was not viewed as vital, as fumaroles had showed up and vanished before. However, it happened again with the mountain erupting, volcanic activities continued even till 30th of April of the year 1902.
