Genetics-informed sociology places an emphasis on the influence of genes on human behavior.

According to genetics-informed sociology, genetics are biologically innate factors that can predispose individuals towards certain behaviors. For instance, if your parent(s) or relatives suffered from substance dependency, it makes you genetically more predisposed to abuse substances compared to an individual without a family history of substance abuse. While genetics predispose us towards certain behaviors, social factors also play a substantial role in perpetuating these behaviors.
