I was doing it wrong. You have to find 30% of $86 which is $25.80, i think, and then take it away from $86 and so the sales price is $86 - $25.80 = $60.20. Originally I only did the first bit, I forgot you have to take it away. sorry hope this helps more now.
so the retail price is 86 and it is on sale for 30% off.....and if it is on sale for 30% off, then u r actually paying 70%.
