I read up on this real fast, so if I get this wrong, I apologize. But I'm fairly certain that the answer is A) It represented the first step in developing the concept of freedom of press. My reasoning being that Phillis Wheatley published a poem in honor of George Whitefield's efforts in the first Great Awakening.
