Answer:

A. New Orleans and French territory west of the Mississippi

Explanation:

The Seven Years War is called the series of international conflicts that occurred between the beginning of 1756 and the end of 1763 to establish control over Silesia and the colonial supremacy in North America and India. They took part, on the one hand, the Kingdom of Prussia, the Kingdom of Hanover and the Kingdom of Great Britain together with their American colonies and, some time later, their ally the Kingdom of Portugal; and on the other hand the Kingdom of Saxony, the Austrian Empire, the Kingdom of France, the Russian Empire, Sweden and the Kingdom of Spain, the latter from 1761. There was a change of coalitions with respect to the War of Succession Austrian, although the Silesian conflict and the Franco-British struggle remained the keys.

The Seven Years' War ended in 1763. On February 10, the Treaty of Paris was signed by Duke Choiseul, the Marquis of Grimaldi and the Duke of Bedford. William Pitt had been determined to keep the conflict alive until the French forces were annihilated.

The peace treaties that ended the Seven Years War represent a victory for Great Britain and Prussia, and for France the loss of most of its possessions in America and Asia. The territorial changes agreed were the following:

  • The Kingdom of Great Britain: France obtains Senegal and possessions in India with the exception of MahĂ©, Yanam, Puducherry, Karaikal and Chandernagor, which would remain well into the 20th century. In America it receives all the French territories in Canada, the territories east of the Mississippi River and west of the Appalachian Mountains (except New Orleans), Dominica, Grenada, St. Vincent and Tobago. The French are also forced to evacuate the island of Menorca, occupied during the war with the British, who had dominated it since the war of the Spanish Succession. From Spain receives Florida in exchange for withdrawing troops stationed in the city of Manila (Philippines) and the port of Havana (Cuba), and gets the right of free navigation on the Mississippi River.
  • The Kingdom of Spain: by the Treaty of Fontainebleau of 1762, France delivered Louisiana to the west of the Mississippi, including its capital, New Orleans.
  • The Kingdom of Portugal: Spain evacuates the north of Uruguay and the Colonia del Sacramento, occupied during the war.
  • The Kingdom of France: besides the five mentioned Indian squares, it is allowed to conserve the island of Gorea and Saint Pierre and Miquelon. Great Britain returns Guadeloupe and Martinique and recognizes their fishing rights in Newfoundland.
