Respuesta :

In my opinion it was a disadvantage for the traveling part but for the actual fighting it could be both an advantage and a disadvantage
Baraq

Considering the heavy armor and chainmail worn by the Knights during the crusaders' travel to Jerusalem, this is a disadvantage to them.

  • The reason is that the legions of Crusaders left Paris to Jerusalem which is more than 2,000 miles of land journey.
  • This journey took them between 12 to 15 miles per day which is more than half a year of journey on land wearing heavy armor and chainmail.
  • Also, they passed through some rough terrains and sunny weather which is not favorable for such costume or dressing materials on a long journey.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that this approach to a battle is a disadvantage in the crusaders’ travel to Jerusalem, as it would weigh them over a long period.
