The option that is NOT a symptom of diabetes is weight gain.
Diabetes mellitus is a condition in which your blood glucose (blood sugar) is too excessive in the blood.
The major source of energy is blood glucose and can be gotten from the food we eat. When the body does not produce enough insulin(i.e. the hormone that aids glucose absorption) or no insulin is produced, this results in a high amount of glucose in the blood leading to diabetes.
At this stage, a diabetic patient is usually:
- Thirsty,
- Dehydrated, and
- Goes for frequent urination.
The glucose stays in the blood and the body does not get the energy it needs, as a result, the body begins to use the body fat and muscles for energy leading to weight loss.
