It was the Serbian Forces that were behind the Bosnian Genocide that took place in the year 1995 and this event took place in the areas which were controlled by the Army of the Republika Srpska and it was known as the Bosnian war. Bosnian war took place between 1992 to 1995 and is famously known as the Bosnian war. Term Ethnic cleansing was used for the first time during the Bosnian genocide only and that was when the Serbs started removing all the ‘Bosnian Muslims’ who were known as Bosniaks.
This ethnic cleansing campaign took place in the areas which were under the control of the Bosnian Serbs and this campaign mainly targeted the Bosniaks and people from the Bosnian community. This campaign included unlawful confinement, rapes, mass murders, and sexual assaults, tortures along with the destruction of public and private property. In the 1990s, many governmental authorities stated that this campaign of ethnic cleansing was an act of genocide and the United Nations general assembly passed a resolution and termed this campaign officially as genocide.
