From the information given, 60% is equivalent to 18.

We need to find out  what 1% is equivalent to,  so:

60 = 18

1  =  x      (where x is the value of 1%)

We  now simplify the above equation, so:

60 × x = 18 × 1  →  60x = 18   → x = 18 / 60  →  x = 0.3

So 1% is equivalent to 0.3

Therefore 90% will be → 0.3 × 90 = 27

90% of the number is 27
